Sabahawks fail to get first away win

sports247.my

SABAH will have to wait longer for their first away win in the Premier League after conceding a late goal in the 1-1 draw against Perlis today. In-form striker Koh Traore had put the Sabahawks in front when he converted a cross from Alto Linus in the 11th minute. It was Traore’s sixth goals in four matches and brought his league tally to seven.

Sabah could not build on the early lead despite creating numerous chances and it was to be costly. Perlis grabbed the equaliser four minutes from time through S. Mohd Abd Ghafar’s effort from inside the box. The outcome saw Sabah still trying to break their away jinx after drawing twice and and losing three times on the road. On a brighter note, the David McCreery-coached team are unbeaten in their last four outings.

Sabah concluded the first round and remained in the bottom half of the table on 12 points after registering three wins, three draws and five losses. The teams will meet again at the Likas Stadium when the second round resumes on April 12.
